Introduction

HouseKeeper is a tracking system for Real Estate tours, previews, and showing trips.  Have you every viewed/shown multiple properties only to return to the office and not be able to recall the specifics of a particular property?  Housekeeper allows you to quickly make and keep notes about properties that you view.  Your notes are handy in you PDA when you return allowing you to recall details and compare properties.  Simple and easy to use but allows detailed tracking of property information.  It even allows you to draw a floor plan.

Create, read, update, and delete multiple properties from the VIEW/EDIT screen.  Display a summary of properties from the VIEW ALL screen.

Print reports on your PC from the data on your PDA.

Prerequisites and Requirements

This software product requires a PalmOS® version of 3.5 or better.  Please ensure that this requirement is met before attempting to install this software.  If you are uncertain which version of the PalmOS® you are using, please refer to your PDA documentation or visit our support forum for additional information.

Installation

If you are unfamiliar with installing files on your PDA you may want to refer to your PDA documentation for detailed instructions.  You can find additional information at the Palmone.com site.

This software is distributed as a single file in WinZip format.  WinZip is a utility that compresses multiple files into one file.  You must have the WinZip utility installed on your personal computer to open the distribution file.  If you do not have WinZip installed you can download it for free from download.com.

1. Open the distribution (.zip) file using WinZip.
2. Extract all of the files to a directory of your choice on your hard drive
3. Open the Palmâ Desktop Install Tool.
4. Using the Add… button (or drag and drop from you hard drive directory) add all of the distributed programs that end with .prc or .pdb into the install tool. 
5. Run HotSyncâ to install the software on your PDA.

Registration

HouseKeeper V3.0 and above is distributed in a demonstration mode with limited time use.  Purchasing the product and then registering it, activates the full product and eliminates the Trial Mode indicator screen.  Each copy of the product is registered to a single device.  After you have purchased your product, you will need to provide us your HotSyncâ ID.  If you provided your HotSyncâ ID to the site you purchased the product from, it should be provided to us with your order.

Once your purchase has been verified and we have received your HotSyncâ ID we will generate a registration code, which will be emailed to you along with the HotSyncâ ID you provided us.  To register the product, tap the Register button on the Trial Mode screen.  The Registration Screen will show your HotSyncâ ID, which must “exactly” match the HotSyncâ ID provided to us.  Enter the registration code “exactly” as provided.  Successful registration will be confirmed.

Using HouseKeeper

The HouseKeeper program consists of several screens.  Instructions for each unique screen are presented below.  All screens have the following common features:

Common Features

• Any label field (left side of the display) that ends in an asterisk (*) is an active label.  Tap the active label for additional functionality relating to the data field (right side of the screen)
• Ellipses - If a field ends in an ellipse (...) you can tap the ellipse to pick form a list of values to insert in the field.  You can also enter data directly into the field.
• The Home button returns to the Welcome Screen
• The Back button returns to the previous screen(s) viewed in the reverse order they were viewed.
• The New button goes to the Main Screen with a blank (new) record.
• Tap the device menu button (or tap the screen title) to activate the application menu.  Use the GoTo submenu to navigate between screens.
• The (i) button provides additional information about the use of the screen

Welcome Screen and Menu

• Tap View All to enter the program at the View All Screen 
• Tap the (?) button for additional information about EverythingRE.com
• Tap the Exit button to leave the program

View All Screen

This screen displays all of the records you have recorded in the system. 

• Tap an individual record to edit/view the details of that record
• Tap New to create a new record.
• Tap the Home button to return to the Welcome Screen

Main Screen

The Main Screen is the first screen used to edit the detailed information about the property.  Notice the active label fields for Address*, Price*, and Sq. Ft.*.

• Tap Address* to manage a list of property addresses.  You can select from this list by using the ellipse (...) at the end of the Address field or you can enter data directly into the address field
• Tap Price* to activate the number entry assist for the Price
• Tap Sq. Ft.* to activate the number entry assist for Sq. Ft.
• Tap and HOLD each of the icons on the navigation bar at the bottom of the form for a definition of its function.  Drag your stylus off the screen while still HOLDing down to abort the action.  Lift the stylus up from the icon, or tap the icon to activate the action.

Navigation Bar Details

Below is a list of the icons on the Navigation Bar and their functions.

• - Delete the current record
• - Go to previous record
• - Go to the first record
• - Go to the last record
• - Go to the next record
• - Help on this screen
• - Go to View All Screen
• - Add a new record
• - Duplicate/Copy the current record
• - Go to the Welcome Screen

Reports

HouseKeeper allows reports to be printed on your PC using the backup copy of your HouseKeeper database located in your Hotsync® backup directory (Normally C:/Palm/AL/Backup).  To use the HouseKeeper reporting facility:

1.      Copy the compiled reports (HouseKeeperReports.tbc) distributed with this product into the Hotsync® backup directory on your PC.

2.      Download and install the current version of the TBViewer© program from SandsUSA.com.  The TBViewer© program is FREE if you are running compiled reports (ending in .tbc).  Make sure you read the documentation provided with TBViewer©.

3.      Start the TBViewer© program and open HouseKeeperReports.tbc that you copied into the Hotsync® backup directory.  Follow the onscreen prompts to run reports.

Please note that reports are run on the backup of the HouseKeeper database on your PC.  Make sure you Hotsync® your PDA before running a report to ensure the backup on your PC has the most current data from your PDA.
