Introduction

Need an easy to way to keep track of activity on your listings.  Was it an Ad call?  Open House?  Or was it that email you sent.  RECall allows you to track all the details of activity on your listings and then print a report that you can give to your clients.

RECall also allows you to analyze which advertising medium is the most effective for you.  Which newspaper ad is generating the calls?  Did that flyer generate any activity?  Track it all with RECall.

Prerequisites and Requirements

This software product requires a PalmOS® version of 3.5 or better.  Please ensure that this requirement is met before attempting to install this software.  If you are uncertain which version of the PalmOS® you are using, please refer to your PDA documentation or visit our software support forum.

 

Installation

If you are unfamiliar with installing files on your PDA you may want to refer to your PDA documentation for detailed instructions.  You can find additional information at the Palmone.com site.

This software is distributed as a single file in WinZip format.  WinZip is a utility that compresses multiple files into one file.  You must have the WinZip utility installed on your personal computer to open the distribution file.  If you do not have WinZip installed you can download it for free from download.com.

Quick Install

1. Open the distribution (.zip) file using WinZip.
2. Click on the “Install” button on the WinZip tool bar
3. Run HotSyncâ to install the software on your PDA.
4. Tap the Install RECall icon on your PDA

Manual Install

1. Open the distribution (.zip) file using WinZip.
2. Extract all of the files to a directory of your choice on your hard drive
3. Open the Palmâ Desktop Install Tool.
4. Using the Add… button (or drag and drop from you hard drive directory) add all of the distributed programs that end with .prc or .pdb into the install tool.  Optionally, you can double-click on each .prc/.pdb file in the distribution file and it will be moved to the install tool.
5. Run HotSyncâ to install the software on your PDA.
6. Tap the Install RECall icon on your PDA

 

Registration

RECall V2.0 and above is distributed in a demonstration mode with limited time use.  Purchasing the product and then registering it, activates the full product and eliminates the Trial Mode indicator screen.  Each copy of the product is registered to a single device.  After you have purchased your product, you will need to provide us your HotSyncâ ID.  If you provided your HotSyncâ ID to the site you purchased the product from, it should be provided to us with your order.  To purchase this product please return to the site where you downloaded the Trial Version and tap the buy button.

Once your purchase has been verified and we have received your HotSyncâ ID we will generate a registration code, which will be emailed to you along with the HotSyncâ ID you provided us.  If you purchased your product from Handango you will automatically be provided a registration code from Handango at the time of purchase.  

To register the product, tap the Register button on the Trial Mode Screen.  The Registration Screen will show your HotSyncâ ID, which must “exactly” match the HotSyncâ ID provided to us.  Enter the registration code “exactly” as provided.  Successful registration will be confirmed.

Using RECall

The RECall program consists of several screens.  Instructions for each unique screen are presented below.  All screens have the following common features:

Common Features

• Any label field (left side of the display) that ends in an asterisk (*) is an active label.  Tap the active label for additional functionality relating to the data field (right side of the screen)
• Ellipses - If a field ends in an ellipse (...) you can tap the ellipse to pick form a list of values to insert in the field.  You can also enter data directly into the field.
• The Home button returns to the Welcome Screen
• The New button goes to the Contact Screen with a blank (new) record.
• The (i) button provides additional information about the use of the screen

Welcome Screen 

• Tap Contact List to enter the program at the List For Screen to view a list of contacts. 
• Tap SetUp to enter the Setup Screen (details below).
• Tap the Exit button to leave the program.
• Tap the (?) button for additional information about EverythingRE.com

List For Screen

This screen displays all of the records you have recorded in the system.  Us the drop down box at the top of the screen to filter the records for a specific property.  To display all records select all in the drop down. 

• Tap an individual record to edit/view the details of that record
• Tap New to create a new record.
• Tap the Home button to return to the Welcome Screen

Contact Screen

The Contact Screen is  used to edit the detailed information about the contact.  Notice the active label fields for Property*, Contact Type*, and Source*.  Fill in the details of the contact record

• Tap Property* to manage a list of property addresses.  Fill in the Property field by selecting the address from the drop down list.
• Tap Contact Type* to activate the list manager for the type of contacts.  Fill in the Contact Type field by selecting the contact type from the drop down list.
• Tap Source* to activate the list manger for contact sources.  Fill in the Source field by selecting the source type from the drop down list.
• Use the Navigation Bar at the bottom of the screen to move around the program.  Tap and HOLD each of the icons on the navigation bar at the bottom of the form for a definition of its function.  Drag your stylus off the screen while still HOLDing down to abort the action.  Lift the stylus up from the icon, or tap the icon to activate the action.

Below is a list of the icons on the Navigation Bar and their functions.

• - Delete the current record
• - Go to previous record
• - Go to the first record
• - Go to the last record
• - Go to the next record
• - Help on this screen
• - Go to View All Screen
• - Add a new record
• - Duplicate/Copy the current record
• - Go to the Welcome Screen

Trial Mode Screen

Until the product is registered the Trial Mode Screen will be the first screen that appears when you start the program.  

• Tap the Continue button to continue using the program in trial mode.  The trial mode lasts for 14 days, at which time the program will not advance past the Trial Mode Screen.
• Tap the Register button to enter the Registration Screen.  See the Registration section above for more details on registration.  Once the program is successfully registered the Trial Mode Screen will no longer appear.

 

Reports

RECall allows reports to be printed on your PC using the backup copy of your RECall database located in your Hotsync® backup directory.  This capability is only available in the full version (not the demo version) of the product.  To use the RECall reporting facility: 

1. Copy the compiled report(s) (RECallReports.tbc) distributed with this product into the Hotsync® backup directory on your PC.  This directory can vary by operating system and Palm Desktopâ version.  The directory is usually call Backup and located under the Palm directory on your hard drive (i.e. C:\Palm\Backup)
2. Download and install the current version of the TBViewer© program from http://www.sandsusa.com/TBReports/ .  The TBViewer© program is FREE if you are running compiled report (ending in .tbc).  Make sure you read the documentation provided with TBViewer©.
3. Start the TBViewer© program and open the compiled report that you copied into the Hotsync® backup directory.

Please note that reports are run on the backup of the RECall database on your PC.  Make sure you Hotsync® your PDA before running a report to ensure the backup on your PC has the most current data from your PDA. If you are having trouble locating your Hotsync® backup directory please consult your PDA documentation.  If you have questions or need assistance please use the RECall Support Forum.  

 

Support and Maintenance

For support or questions regarding this product go to the RECall Support Forum.    Maintenance and new versions of our products are always available for FREE on our website.  You can find maintenance for all of our products at our EverythingRE.com Software Store.  Use the Update link (if available) to update your program only.  If no Update link is available, use the Download link to install the new version of the program.  You will not be required to register again.
