RE:HIP is a
home inventory program that can track virtually any item in categories and
locations that you specify. In addition
to item category and location you can keep track of purchase and warranty
information. A report module is
available for printing reports on your PC.
RE:HIP –
Home Inventory Program.
This
software product requires a PalmOS® version of 3.5 or better. Please ensure that this requirement is met
before attempting to install this software.
If you are uncertain which version of the PalmOS® you are using, please
refer to your PDA documentation or visit our software support forum.
If you are
unfamiliar with installing files on your PDA you may want to refer to your PDA
documentation for detailed instructions.
This software is distributed as a single file in WinZip format. WinZip is a utility that compresses multiple files into one file. You must have the WinZip utility installed on your personal computer to open the distribution file. If you do not have WinZip installed you can download it for free from download.com at: http://www.WinZip.com
1. Open the distribution (.zip) file using WinZip.
2. Click on the Install icon on the WinZip tool bar and follow the instructions.
3. Run HotSyncâ to install the software on your PDA.
4. Tap on the Install RE:HIP icon on your PDA to complete the installation.
RE:HIP is distributed in a demonstration mode with limited time use. Purchasing the product and then registering it, activates the full product and eliminates the TRIAL MODE indicator screen. Each copy of the product is registered to a single device. After you have purchased your product, you will need to provide us your HotSyncâ ID. If you provided your HotSyncâ ID to the site you purchased the product from, it should be provided to us with your order.
Once your
purchase has been verified and we have received your HotSyncâ ID we
will generate a registration code, which will be emailed to you along with the
HotSyncâ ID you provided us. To
register the product, tap the Register button on the Trial Mode screen. The Registration Screen will show your
HotSyncâ ID, which must “exactly” match the HotSyncâ ID
provided to us. Enter the registration
code “exactly” as provided. Successful
registration will be confirmed.
Below are a
few tips and tricks for using the RE:HIP program more effectively and
efficiently.
1.
Categories –
Use the Categories button on the Welcome screen to edit inventory categories. A default set of categories is provided.
2.
Locations -
Use the Locations button on the Welcome screen to edit inventory
locations. A default set of locations
is provided.
3.
Active Field
Labels – Any field ending in “*” is active.
Tap on the field label (not the field itself) to active the related
function.
4.
Record
Beaming – Use the Beam button on the Item screen to send the current record to
another user running the RE:HIP application.
If you have multiple devices this is a quick and easy way to share data.
RE:HIP
allows reports to be printed on your PC using the backup copy of your RE:HIP
databases located in your Hotsync® backup directory (Normally
C:/Palm/Backup). To use the RE:HIP
reporting facility:
1.
Copy the
compiled reports (REHIPReports.tbc) distributed with the product into the
Hotsync® backup directory on your PC.
2.
Download and
install the current version of the TBViewer© program from http://www.sandsusa.com/software/tbviewer.zip .
The TBViewer© program is FREE.
Make sure you read the documentation provided with TBViewer©.
3.
Start the
TBViewer© program and open RE:HIPReports.tbc that you copied into the Hotsync®
backup directory. Follow the onscreen
prompts to run reports.
Please note
that reports are run on the backup of the RE:HIP databases on your PC. Make sure you Hotsync® your PDA before
running a report to ensure the backup on your PC has the most current data from
your PDA.
