Introduction

Do you have a need for a simple property management system you can use on your PDA. REPropMan is a simple and easy to use property management system for your PDA. You can track activity by any combination of buildings, owners, accounts, tenants, and vendors. Capture details of transactions for multiple buildings, owners, accounts, tenants, and vendors and relate them to each other.

Print from a selection of over a dozen reports on your PC using the HotSyncâ copy of the data from your PDA.

Prerequisites and Requirements

This software product requires a PalmOS® version of 3.5 or better. Please ensure that this requirement is met before attempting to install this software. If you are uncertain which version of the PalmOS® you are using, please refer to your PDA documentation or visit our Software Support Forum for additional information.

Installation

If you are unfamiliar with installing files on your PDA you may want to refer to your PDA documentation for detailed instructions.

This software is distributed as a single file in WinZip format. WinZip is a utility that compresses multiple files into one file. You must have the WinZip utility installed on your personal computer to open the distribution file. If you do not have WinZip installed you can download it for free from download.com at: http://www.WinZip.com

1. Open the distribution (.zip) file using WinZip.

2. Click on the Install icon on the WinZip tool bar and follow the instructions.

3. Run HotSyncâ to install the software on your PDA.

4. Tap on the Install REPropMan icon on your PDA to complete the installation.

Registration

REPropMan is distributed in a demonstration mode with limited time use. Purchasing the product and then registering it, activates the full product and eliminates the TRIAL MODE indicator screen. Each copy of the product is registered to a single device. After you have purchased your product, you will need to provide us your HotSyncâ ID. If you provided your HotSyncâ ID to the site you purchased the product from, it should be provided to us with your order.

Once your purchase has been verified and we have received your HotSyncâ ID we will generate a registration code, which will be emailed to you along with the HotSyncâ ID you provided us. To register the product, tap the Register button on the Trial Mode screen. The Registration Screen will show your HotSyncâ ID, which must “exactly” match the HotSyncâ ID provided to us. Enter the registration code “exactly” as provided. Successful registration will be confirmed.

Using REPropMan

The REPropMan program consists of several screens. Instructions for each unique screen are presented below. All screens have the following common features:

Common Features

Any label field (left side of the display) that ends in an asterisk (*) is an active label. Tap the active label for additional functionality relating to the data field (right side of the screen)
The HOME button returns to the Welcome Screen
The SELECT button returns to the Select Records Screen
The LIST button returns to the List Selected Screen
The NEW button goes to the EDIT screen with a blank (new) record.
The DEL button deletes the current record
The ALL button takes you to a list of records
The |<< button takes you to the first record
The < button takes you to the previous record
The > button takes you to the next record
The >>| button takes you to the last record
The (i) button provides additional information about the use of the screen

Welcome Screen

Tap the ENTER button to enter the system
Tap the Setup button to enter the setup screen
Tap the EXIT button to leave the system
Tap the (?) button to display information about products and support.

Home Screen

Tap the BUILDINGS button for a list of buildings
Tap the OWNERS button for a list of owners
Tap the TENANTS button for a list of tenants
Tap the VENDORS button for a list of vendors
Tap the ACCOUNTS button for a list of bank accounts
Tap the ACTIVITY LOG button to go to the Activity Log Selection Screen
Tap the (i) button for additional information about this screen
Tap the (?) button to display information about products and support

Building, Owners, Tenants, Vendors, and Accounts List Screens

Tap an individual record to edit that record
Tap the NEW button to add a new record
Tap the HOME button to return to the HOME SCREEN
Tap the (i) button for additional information about this screen

Building, Owners, Tenants, Vendors, and Accounts Edit Screens

Use these screens to edit the details for a specific record type. Labels that end in * are active. Tap the active label for additional functionality.

Tap the HOME button to return to the HOME SCREEN
Tap the ADD LOG button to add a log entry for this record

Activity Log Select Screen

Use this screen to select the Activity Log Records you would like to work with. Provide a Start Date and an End Date for your search. Use the drop downs to select the ACTION, BUILDING, TENANT, OWNER, VENDOR, and ACCOUNT records you would like to view. All fields are “ANDed” together to form the search criteria.

Once you have defined your search criteria:

Tap VIEW to go to the ACTIVITY LOG LIST screen to view a list of the selected records
Tap DELETE to delete the selected records

Other buttons:

Tap HOME to return to the HOME Screen
Tap (i) for additional information about this screen

Activity Log List Screen

Tap an individual record to edit that record
Tap the SELECT button to return to the ACTIVITY LOG SELECT SCREEN
Tap the HOME button to return to the HOME SCREEN
Tap the (i) button for additional information about this screen

Activity Log Entry Screen

Use this screen to edit the details of the Activity Log Entry. Labels that end in ‘*’ are active. Tap the active labels to activate additional functionality.

Enter the date of the activity in the Date field. Use the drop downs to define an action for this entry and to optionally associate a building, tenant, owner, vendor, or account with this entry.

Use the Amount field to indicate income or an expense associated with this entry. Use a positive (+) number for income and a negative number (-) for an expense. If you provide an amount you must enter an Account

Button actions:

Tap the (i) button for additional information about this screen
Tap the DESCRIPTION button to enter additional information about this entry
Tap the DELETE button to delete this record and return to the previous screen
Tap the BACK button to return to the previous screen.

Reports

REPropMan now allows reports to be printed on your PC using the backup copy of your REPropMan database located in your Hotsync® backup directory (Normally C:/Palm/AL/Backup). To use the REPropMan reporting facility:

1. Copy the compiled reports (REPropManReports.tbc) distributed with this product into the Hotsync® backup directory on your PC.

2. Download and install the current version of the TBViewer© program from http://www.sandsusa.com/TBReports/#Downloads . The TBViewer© program is FREE. Make sure you read the documentation provided with TBViewer©.

3. Start the TBViewer© program and open REPropManReports.tbc that you copied into the Hotsync® backup directory. Follow the onscreen prompts to run reports.

Please note that reports are run on the backup of the REPropMan database on your PC. Make sure you Hotsync® your PDA before running a report to ensure the backup on your PC has the most current data from your PDA.
