Introduction

REStuff is a Real Estate Equipment Inventory Control System. It provides a simple yet powerful tool for tracking the whereabouts of all your real estate equipment.  Now you can track signs, riders, lockboxes, flyer boxes, display stands, posts, combo boxes, almost anything, right in the palm of your hand.  You have a major investment in these tools.  They are expensive.  Now you can take your equipment inventory with you and know where all your stuff is, all the time.

You can display your stuff by type, owner, holder, and location.  You can print reports of on your PC from the backup copy of your PDA data.  Never loose track of your stuff again.

Prerequisites and Requirements

This software product requires a PalmOS® version of 3.5 or better.  Please ensure that this requirement is met before attempting to install this software.  If you are uncertain which version of the PalmOS® you are using, please refer to your PDA documentation or visit our software support forum.

Installation

If you are unfamiliar with installing files on your PDA you may want to refer to your PDA documentation for detailed instructions.  This software is distributed as a single file in WinZip format.  WinZip is a utility that compresses multiple files into one file.  You must have the WinZip utility installed on your personal computer to open the distribution file.  If you do not have WinZip installed you can download it for free from download.com .  Additional information is available on our Software Support Forum under General Information and Discussion.

1. Open the distribution (.zip) file using WinZip.
2. Click on the Install icon on the WinZip tool bar and follow the instructions to extract the installer.
3. Run HotSyncâ to move the installer to your PDA.
4. Tap the REStuff Install icon on your PDA.

Registration

The REStuff product requires registration to fully activate the product and remove the trial mode.  This registration is only required once and is good for life, even if you install new versions of the product (FREE on our website).  Please refer to our Software Support forum on our web site for PDA Software Registration Information.

Tips and Tricks

Below are some tips and tricks for using the REStuff product

• Utilities - From the Welcome screen tap on the Utilities button to enter the Utilities screen.  From the Utilities screen you can set up the people, types of items and locations that you want to track.  You can also enter the individual utilities by taping on their "active label".  See below for more information.  You'll need to add at least one person, type, and location to be able to use the rest of the REStuff system.  You can always add more items later.
  
• Active Labels - Any label field ending in an asterisk (*) is an active label. Tap on the label to activate additional functionality or to provide additional data entry support.
  
• (i) button - Tap the (i) button for additional information on the screen.
  
• Menu Navigation - You can use the Menu button on the PDA to activate the REStuff menu.  The GoTo sub-menu provides a quick and easy way to move between screens..

Reports

REStuff provides reports that can be printed on your PC using the backup copy of your REStuff database located in your Hotsync® backup directory.  To use the REStuff reporting facility:

1. Copy the compiled report(s) (REStuffReports.tbc) distributed with this product into the Hotsync® backup directory on your PC.  This directory can vary by operating system and Palm Desktop version.  The directory is usually call Backup and located under the Palm directory on your PC (i.e. C:\Palm\Backup)
   
2. Download and install the current version of the TBViewer© program from http://www.sandsusa.com/TBReports/ .  The TBViewer© program is FREE for viewing recompiled report (ending in .tbc).  Make sure you read the documentation provided with TBViewer©
   .
3. Start the TBViewer© program and open the compiled report that you copied into the Hotsync® backup directory.

Please note that reports are run on the backup of the REStuff database on your PC.  Make sure you Hotsync® your PDA before running a report to ensure the backup on your PC has the most current data from your PDA.
