 Q&A | Mortgage : errors and omissions

Name: jeff Title of Question: errors and omissions
Question: I refinanced my mortgage two years ago. The lender called me recently and said that I didnt pay enough for the mortgage tax. Even though I signed a HUD statement, and they already paid the tax themselves, they say I still need to pay because I signed an errors and omissions document. Is that true?

Answer: If you owe the tax you owe the tax..if they collected money and did not use it for taxes then you have a case. I they collected less than they need it is still a debt you owe.
