Why Use a REALTOR When Selling

Whether you’re flicking through the pages of a real estate magazine or perusing the Internet you’re bound to come across the term Realtor at some point. Maybe you think it just means the same thing as real estate agent, maybe you’re not to interested, but if you want to sell your home you may want to know that there is in fact a difference between a Realtor and a real estate agent.

A Realtor is a specific type of real estate agent, that is a member of the National Realtor Association. As a member the real estate agent follows a strict code of conduct and ethics, which means that you can be reasonably sure that they will represent you fairly in any real estate dealings.

So what can a Realtor offer you when you’re selling your home? Well, quite a lot actually. Apart from all the up to date market information that can help you set a fair asking price for your home, Realtor’s can also assist you in plenty of other things too.

A major contribution would be to implement a marketing plan for your home, exposing it to other Realtors and public alike. Realtor’s also offer you added security in that they will vet and screen prospective buyers and accompany them around you’re property during the viewing so that you can rest assured that your valuables will be safe.

A Realtor can also help you with negotiating the sale of your home, helping to appraise each proposal from a prospective buyer and also develop the contract that you want. They can also advice you throughout the process on any legal documentation you maybe having trouble with or any repairs that need to be completed.
