Elmore County lies in the east-central part of Alabama. Noted for its many waterways, the county is drained by the Coosa and the Tallapoosa Rivers, which merge to form the Alabama River in the county's southern portion. The population of Elmore County is approximately 70,000 people with major communities being Wetumpka (the county seat), Eclectic, Tallassee, and Millbrook.

Elmore County is a veritable outdoor wonderland. The County has many lakes and river including massive Martin Lake and Jordan Lake providing for many aquatic activities including boating, skiing, fishing and canoeing. The area has stretches of wilderness ideal for deer, turkey, quail, dove and squirrel hunting. The county also maintains many lovely parks, an extensive trail system, and recreational centers for residents to enjoy all year long.
