Also known as “Sunshine Valley”, the residents of Chino Valley enjoy sunshine all year long with relatively little precipitation. You may be thinking, unbearably hot and humid, but that’s not the case in Chino Valley.
Chino Valley sits at a high elevation being nestled among the grand mountains of northern Arizona including the imposing Granite Mountain, which looms over the town. Because of this, Chino Valley experiences comfortable mild weather all year round without any extremes. Although many people associate “Arizona” with “desert”, that is not the case for Chino Valley. Chino is derived from a Mexican word that means “abundant grass”. The community is also surrounded by the lush wilderness of Prescott, Tonto, and Coconino National Forests.
Part of Arizona’s Yavapai County, Chino Valley has a growing population that currently stands at approximately 9,000 people. The town is 15 miles north or Prescott, and 140 miles north of the Sun City of Phoenix.
For outdoor enthusiasts, it doesn’t get much better than the natural resources surrounding Chino Valley. The national forests surrounding the town are prime destination for some of the best camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing the state has to offers.
