Surprise! That’s right, there is actually a city in Arizona named surprise. Surprised!? Well, the people who live here are rarely surprised when they wake up in the morning and can’t stop think about how amazing their life is.

It’s an exciting time to be living in Surprise. New amenities and businesses are springing up almost every day in our 74-square-mile City. We opened a state-of-the-art Aquatic Center in May 2002 and opened the Surprise Regional Library, Surprise Stadium and the Spring Training facility in December 2002. In January 2003 we opened the Countryside Recreation Center on the campus of Countryside Elementary School. The inaugural Spring Training season in Surprise, featuring the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, kicked off in February 2003. A 57-acre park and urban fishing lake on the Surprise Recreation Campus are scheduled to open by mid-2003.
