Tucson Real Estate Information

Tucson is the 2nd biggest city in Arizona after Phoenix, and is actually linked to it via the I-10. Both cities are at the ends of the highway, with the stretch between filled with fast growing suburbs.

It wasn't until the Gadsden Purchase in 1853 that Tucson joined the United States. Previously owners included Spain, the Hohokam, and ancient Paleo-Indians. Originally the seat for Arizona territory between 1867 and 1889. During that time the University of Arizona was created there and is now immortalized with the giant 'A' carved into the side of the Sentinel Peak.

Tucson is home to the Annual Gem & Mineral show, which is the largest show of its type in the world. Other important attractions include the Biosphere 2, the Titan Missle Museum, and Tucson Botanical Garden.

Military work is a big factor in daily life here. The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base along with the privately owned Raytheon missle factory provide a large chunk of the jobs within and nearby Tucson.

Though it's not one of America's most celebrated cities, Tucson is still a mid-sized metropolitan area with things to do and places to see. If you're interested in real estate here, there are many homes, townhouses, and condominiums to choose from.
