Arkansas’ “City of Hospitality” is the historic and vibrant community of Batesville located in the north-central region. Although small is size with a population of approximately 11,000 people, the City of Batesville is big on everything else. Situated on the White River at the foothills of the rugged Ozark Mountains, Batesville was established as a river port town in the early 1800s, and incorporated as a city in 1836, making it the second oldest city in the state. Batesville played an important role as the entry point into the interior of northern Arkansas, which eventually led to the settlement of the Ozarks. Today, Batesville is a prosperous community that is home to Lyon College, University of Arkansas Community College, and Bee Jays Academy.

Recreational opportunities is abundant in the city. With an impressive five parks spanning 130 acres complete with recreational facilities, hiking and biking trails, you don’t have to stray to far to enjoy the outdoors.
