La Verne is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, just a short drive from metropolitan Los Angeles and Orange County. The city was incorporated in 1906, and the city's name is French for growing green or spring-like.

Indeed La Verne grew as a major center for citrus production in the early to mid- 20th century. The citrus industry engaged nearly all of the people of the community, influencing all of life in La Verne. Since the rapid rise of population and expansion in Los Angeles County after WWII, La Verne has welcomed a variety of industries to its boundaries - which now fuels the city's strong economy. La Verne represents a desirable but cost-effective location for many businesses.

Today, La Verne is a city of more than 30,000 residents and a well balanced community with a good mix of residential, commercial and industrial features. La Verne's close-knit community is home to many fine institutions and facilities among which include the University of La Verne (founded in 1891), Brackett Airport and fine public and private schools.
