Longmont, Colorado, is a city located within Boulder County that enjoys spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. It is conveniently located 37 miles from Denver, 16 miles from Boulder, and 30 miles from the scenic Trail Ridge Road. The City of Longmont was founded in 1871 by members of the Chicago Colony who settled in the valley. The name Longmont originates from the view of Long's Peak available from the city.
