This beautiful, beautiful city is located in southeastern Larimer County, 50 miles north of Denver, Colorado’s capital. The city is along the Big Thompson River, seven miles east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.Loveland has grown steadily to a 2000 population of 50,608. The city’s population stood at 30,244 in 1980.Loveland was the state’s second-fastest-growing city in the 1970s, when it grew at a rate of 86 percent during the decade. The city grew 211 percent from 1960 to 1980.
