Originally settled in 1641 and incorporated as a city in 1893, Stamford is one of the country's oldest cities. The fourth largest city in Connecticut, Stamford is a major center of business and culture in the Constitution State. Best known for being the birthplace to Senator Joe Lieberman, Stamford is also widely viewed as one of the best cities to live in all of America.

One of the safest cites in the country (a 2004 FBI report listed it as the 4th safest city in the country with a population of over 100,000), Stamford is home to a number of individuals that communte to New York City for work. A city surrounded by old-money towns like Greenwich and Westport, Stamford is viewed as a haven for the newly rich.
