Tampa Real Estate Information The best known city on the west coast of Florida is Tampa. It's a mid-sized city with a population of just over 300,000, but the metro area of Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater houses some 2.5 million.
If you like great weather, then look no further. Tampa faces the Gulf of Mexico and guarded from cold Atlantic weather by the mainland. Temperatures rarely go below 50 F, with the average temperature at about 70 degrees. Watch out for the humidity though, because most nights are filled with fog and most mornings with mist. One interesting feature of the climate is the steamy summer nights with 90 degree temperatures and high humidty. It's like a sauna out there soemtimes!
Home to three major league sports teams, there is no shortage of entertianment here. The Devil Rays play baseball at Tropicana Field, the Buccaneers play Football at Raymond James Stadium, and the Lightning (the latest Stanely Cup champions!) play the world's fastest game at the St. Pete Times Forum.
On a more infamous note, Tampa is home to many strip clubs of national fame. The most famous of them is Mons Venus. Celebrities and sports stars are known to frequent them at night.
