Bee Ridge

Founded in 1925, the City of Bee Ridge is home to over 40,000 residents covering a geographic area of 24 square miles. It employs 1600 employees and has an annual budget of over $202 million. It is governed by a Mayor/Council form of government, making its elected mayor both the City Manager and Chief Executive Officer. The City Council acts as the legislative body, responsible for approving contracts, and passing ordinances within the City.

A full service city, Bee Ridge provides residents with ISO Class 1 Fire Rescue Services, Community oriented Policing, award winning Recreation and Community Services, Innovative Library Services, a nationally recognized Grants and Human Services department, and many other services all designed to improve the community’s quality of life.

Bee Ridge promotes economic development and is actively engaged in revitalization efforts in three areas of the city.
