Belle Glade is a small town of 15,000 on the southern shore of Lake Okeechobee in Southern Florida. The town is a young, dynamic crowd that enjoys a high quality of life without the hustle of nearby Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Let's cut right to the chase: Lake Okeechobee is the country's second largest freshwater lake, and is the central focus for activities in the region. It features some of the best sportfishing with a huge bass population. As one of the gateway cities to the everglades, Belle Glade has easy highway access to the Palm Beaches, Miami, Fort Meyers, and all the water you could ever want (the Atlantic and the Gulf coasts).

Recent growth has been spurred by a succesful sugarcane and vegetable industry based in some of the country's finest soils. This is an entirely different version of Florida where countryside life takes first priority, nature is at your doorstep, and tourist attractions are just a distant memory. Belle Glade has its own hospital, but the closest airport is in Palm Beach just 40 miles east on the coast. A wonderful new Cultural Arts Center was recently constructed on the Palm Beach Community College Glades Campus and it offers a variety of plays, music performances, and ballets year-round.
