Jacksonville and its beaches, all of Duval County, cover a wide area of housing opportunites. There are the historic areas of Riverside, Avondale, Five Points, San Marco, Downtown Springfield. The St Johns River runs north and then eastward to the ocean and provides wonderful riverfront and creekfront resale properties. Golf is king in the area and throughout Duval, Clay and St Johns County are many golf communities with upscale housing. Currently the main growth in the area is aimed around the airport north of the city and northwest of the city. Many are moving back and renovating the downtown Springfield area and many condos, flats, and lofts are in the works there. Travel throughout the city is facilitated by the recently completed bypass so that one can more easily reach the northeast and eastern sections of the county, i.e. Intracoastal, the newly built St Johns Town Center shopping and dining district. Homes can be found for the first time home buyer, the move up buyer, the higher upscale buyer and of course the riverfront/waterfront luxury homes. The housing growth is still intact in the Jacksonville area and will continue for awhile it would appear.
