Real Estate Lehigh Acres - FL
Lehigh Acres Real Estate Information

The town of Lehigh Acres is located in Lee County, in southwestern Florida near Fort Myers and Sanibel and Captiva Islands. It is situated about 15 miles east of the Caloosahatchee River, when it drains into the San Carlos Bay and Gulf of Mexico. The town had a total population of approximated 35,000 people.

Lehigh Acres could have been called a company town because of the residential control of the Lehigh Corporation. The company ended real estate activity in 2001. Lehigh Acres has not become a city, but there is interest by some for cityhood in the near future. For now, it remains an unincorporated area of Lee County.

With 175 miles of canals and 16 well-stocked lakes, Lehigh Acres is a perfect destination for both fishing enthusiasts and beginners alike. Largemouth bass are plentiful, and the area's fresh waters teem with bluegill, bream, catfish and pickerel as well. For a change of pace, the Gulf of Mexico and its nearby barrier islands provide spectacular saltwater fishing opportunities, where grouper, mackerel, redfish, snapper, snook and trout abound.

Lehigh Acres, tucked away from the bustle of large cities. This quiet and charming suburban community is a peaceful and affordable alternative to the more well-known Florida destinations.
