Port Orange is a successful Florida coast town with close ties to its neighbor, South Daytona. Residents of this quaint mid-coast town are mainly retirees, families, and young professionals who all enjoy Port Orange's pace of life.

Originally settled as an indigo and sugar cane plantation area, the soil was later used extensively for citrus and other cops that could be shipped out of the Halifax River. Thus, the Port of Orange was incorporated in 1926 to meet this demand. South Daytona was formed 30 years later.
