As the state capital of the Sunshine state, Tallahassee has been one of the oldest cities in Florida. Despite being the state's eighth largest city, Tallahassee has always been recognized as one of Florida's most culturally leading cities.

The county seat of Leon County, Tallahassee was chosen as Florida's state capital as a compromise between the population centers of Jacksonville and Pensacola during a time where the Flordia peninsula was sparsely populated. As the state capital, Tallahassee is renowned for its educational facilities, as it is the home to such famed Floridan universities as: Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and Tallahassee Community College.

The regional center for trade and agriculture, Tallahassee is home to the Tallahassee Regional Airport. Although there are more flashier cities within Florida such as Miami, Tallahassee is perhaps the truest reflection of this complex state.

Home to excellent restaurants and shopping centers, Tallahassee is a great alternative to the city's largest cities. Featuring excellent neighbourhoods, Tallahasee features a number of excellent urban amenities without being overwhelmingly large. Home to over 150,000 residents, Tallahassee continues to have the relaxed vibe of a small city that is difficult to get in other large Florida cities like Jacksonville.
