Situated on the Mokapu Peninsula looking over Kaneohe Bay is the beautiful Hawaiian community of Kaneohe Station. Kaneohe Station has a distinct military influence, being home to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, a U.S. Marine Corps base facility and air station. The population of Kaneohe Station is approximately 12,000 people.

Located in the City & County of Honolulu, Kaneohe Station lies between the two largest Oahu communities of Kailua and Kaneohe on the windward side. The rest of Oahu is normally the typical balmy weather that people associate with Hawaii. The windward side offers more varied and sometimes unpredicatable weather. The moist trade winds reach the vertical two thousand foot walls of the Koolau Crater and have nowhere to go but up. When they do they cool and form clouds meaning that this area receives more rain that other parts of the island.

The rain produced here is the purest rainwater on the Earth. This rain is the lifeblood of the islands and on Oahu has been stored for thousands of years in Mother Nature's under ground natural storage cisterns. This results in the extraordinarily beautiful tropical vegetation found here. Just a hike around the area will attest to this. In addition, the erosion of the mountains on the windward side has created some of the highest-rated beaches in the world.
