Lahaina Hawaii, like anyone really needs convincing to take a look at a life in Hawaii. Well it’s my job to at least try so please bear with me as I tell you all about a city in a state that basically sells itself.

Lahaina is known for many different things, but one thing that you might not even realize the city is known for is it’s great level of civic involvement by the folks who live here. That’s right the people who live here in Lahaina aren’t just content to sit around and be push back and forth in the tide of community. No these people actively seek to make their community the one that they want and by extension a better community than many others in the region. This isn’t to say anything against the other communities on the island, rather is speaks highly of the proactive approach people here feel when they are confronted with problems facing them. For instance when the national government wanted to pass a bill that would have negatively impacted the environment here, the people of Lahaina pitched together to send a representative to the mainland to fight for the community rights. !

As the story goes, the members of congress were so impressed by the impassioned speech made by the Lahainan they decided to scrap the bill. Sure the bill may not have been passed anyway, but it speaks volumes about the vales of the people who live here. Now isn’t that the kind of value that you want your children to emulate?
