A census designated community situated in gorgeous Maui County, Wailuki is a winner through and through. Home to over 12,000 residents, this county seat has so much going for it. From its gorgeous homes to beautiful beaches, it's not shocking to learn that Wailuku was the premier tourist destination on Maui in the early 20th century.

While other resort towns have eclipsed Wailuku in terms of tourism, this community has increased its liveability factor. Just located west of Kahului at the mouth of the Iao Valley, Wailuku is full of local treasures that will never keep you bored. The Ka'ahumanu Church is one of Wailuku's oldest structures and dates back to 1876. Additionally, for history buffs, it's worth checking out Bailey House, a famed history museum. Two ancient temples are close by and the Haleki'i Heiau and the Pihanakalani Heiau are definitely worth checking out.

However, you don't want to act like a tourist if you're living in Wailuku. Rather, you should enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and friendly residents while you enjoy your life in this Hawaiian paradise community.
