Pocatello is nestled away in the great wilderness expanse of east Idaho. It's historically been known as the gate city to the west.

You see, back in 1889, Pocatello was a focal point for pioneers, gold miners, and settlers on the Oregon Trail. As stage lines and rail lines were built, Pocatello became an important trade center and transportation hub.

Even today, the city maintains its transportation with great air, rail, and ground options. The I-15 and I-86 runs right through the city. For three years in a row, Forbes.com has voted Pocatello as the "Best Small Place for Business", and many high-tech telecommunications firms have moved in because of it. AMI Semiconductor, Premier Technologies, and Positron Systems are just three of the many high-tech firms operating in the area.

Civic pride is at an all time high, with the six active neighborhood associations, a number of volunteer community organizations. There's no wonder why Pocatello is called the US Smile Capital! :)

Idaho State University even has a campus in Pocatello, and is the city's biggest employer. Thousands of student attend school here every day, giving this town a quirky student-feel.
