Twin Falls Real Estate Information Twin Falls is a scenic city located at the edge of the spectacular Snake River Canyon. Situated halfway between Boise and Pocatello, Idaho's 4th largest city was carved out of the rugged sagebrush-covered desert. The city is the seat of Twin Falls County, and both are named for the falls seven miles away.
Twin Falls is perhaps best known for the 1974 attempt by Evel Knievel to jump the nearby Snake River Canyon in a specially-modified rocket cycle. Watched by millions on TV, the attempt ultimately failed following an premature deployment of Knievel's parachute. The foundation of the launch ramp, which lies on private land, can still be seen.
The Perrine Bridge, which spans the Snake River Canyon north of the city, has become popular with the BASE jumping community.
In 1999, Twin Falls was used as a primary filming location for the film adaptation of the Kurt Vonnegut novel Breakfast of Champions.
Twin Falls is home to the College of Southern Idaho. Several Idaho universities, including Boise State University, Idaho State University, and the University of Idaho, offer classes in Twin Falls.
