Aurora has the distinction of being the hometown for Wanye's World (though creator Mike Myers originally based it on the Canadian counterpart of Aurora, Ontario) in the two major motion pictures that were created for the Saturday Night Live franchise. A 2003 special census established that the city's population was about 160,000--making it the second-largest city in Illinois.

Attractions in Aurora and surrounding area include the Hollywood Casino, Blackberry Farm, the Paramont Theatre, and the Nine-Museum Campus. Other great family adventures are available like the Native American PowWow, Sunken Garden, and Splash Country.

Getting to Aurora is easy. You can either come through O'Hare or the Aurora Municipal airport. The I-88 and I-290 offer easy access from Chicago. The historic Lincoln Highway also runs through the city.
