The massive Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area is just a few miles to the northwest, and the heart of Chicago is about 43 miles north along the shores of Lake Michigan. Additionally, the City of Gary is 15 miles northeast and the state capitol of Indianapolis is 125 miles southeast along the I-65.
