Hobart, Indiana

Hobart's name is said to honor the founder George Earle's brother, Frederick Hobart Earle of England.George Earle founded Hobart with his purchase of the land from the Potawatomi Indians and is credited with constructing a dam for Deep River, resulting in Lake George. Also constructed by Earle was a grist mill, the city's first business. Hobart began as a city of mostly German, Polish and Swedish residents.

Hobart is a nice community. There is a lakefront park there if you like walking. There is also a walking track in the area which is outside too. There is a YMCA for swimming and fitness activities. There is also a community pool for swimming too.

Hobart has an excellent public school system. Amenities of the Village includes golf courses, country clubs, and recreational complexes. Many world-class entertainment opportunities are available in nearby Chicago metro area including professional sports, museums, opera, art exhibits, symphony, and theatre.
