Lafayette is a city located in the state of Indiana. It is the county seat of Tippecanoe County. The city has an estimated population of 60,000.

Founded in 1825, when William Digby purchased a large amount of land on the Wabash River, Lafayette grew as a shipping center on the Wabash River, after William Henry Harrison's troops defeated the Shawnee Indians at Tippecanoe in 1811, opening the area to settlement. With the construction of Purdue University in West Lafayette, development boomed, as the city experienced tremendous growth. Today, Lafayette has a thriving economy, with the Subaru Automotive Plant, located here.

Lafayette is recognized for the many historic buildings, with varied architectural designs, that dotes its landscape. Historical buffs would enjoy that and also a 90-acre battlefield park where William Henry Harrison's troops defeated the Shawnee Indians at Tippecanoe in 1811. You'll also find relics and displays on the city's development at the Fowler House museum. Other city attractions includes Columbian Park and the Lafayette Museum of Art.
