Soaked in a rich history and heritage, Mooresville was founded by a North Carolinian Quaker, Samuel Moore who found this area desirable for its fertile soil, abundant water resources. Despite being home to a relatively small population of 10,000 people, Mooresville has produced its share of famous people such as Hall of Fame baseball player, Amos Rusie, and the creator of the Indiana State Flag, Paul Hadley.

Education is a source of great community pride in Mooresville, which is home to some of the finest schools the state has to offer including 5 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. Mooresville also serves as the largest outreach location for Ivy Tech State College. Within an hour’s drive, you will come across some of the finest universities in the mid-west including Indiana University, Purdue University, and the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.
