Real Estate Vincennes - IN
Vincennes Real Estate Information

Many people often groan about the thought of living in Middle America. While the American heartland does provide an excellent quality of life and plenty of opportunities to succeed, many view this part of the country as boring and non-historic. However, this is simply untrue and cities like Vincennes will prove any doubters who believe that Middle America is not a cool place wrong.

Situated in scenic Knox County, where it resides as county seat, the city of Vincennes has the distinction of being the oldest city in Indiana. Home to over 18,000 residents, this charming city can trace back its roots to 1732 when it was first established as a French fur trading post. A city that has seen the evolution of the American state, Vincennes was prominetly featured in the Maurice Thompson 1901 novel, Alice of Old Vincennes about the aborted revolt of 1778 against the British.

One of the most exciting cities in the Hoosier State, Vincennes is best known for being the home of Vincennes University. Additionally, Vincennes contains Grouseland, which was the home of President William Henry Harrison between 1803 and 1812.

However, this Indiana city doesn't just live in the past. With its safe neighborhoods and beautiful homes, Vincennes is a great place to live right now. Its residents typify the Middle American spirit of friendliness and some of the best houses in Indiana dot the Vincennes landscape.
