According to Princeton dictionary, Zion can be defined as “utopia”, an imaginary place considered perfect or ideal. Aptly named, Zionsville is indeed a perfect place to live. It could just be a happy coincidence that the community’s name originated from an early surveyor, William Zion. Or is it?

In any case, this community of Zionsville, located on the northwestern fringe from the Greater Indianapolis Metropolitan Area in Boone County, has been a source of great happiness for its residents, many of which have been here for many generations. Born as a farming community, Zionsville has become a model of progress and preservation in the “Hoosier State” of Indiana.

Centrally located in Indiana’s busiest urban area, Zionsville still retains a small town feel with its charming aesthetic and quiet demeanor, despite being only 15 miles from downtown Indianapolis, 13 miles from the City of Lebanon, 50 miles from Lafayette, 110 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio, 120 miles for Louisville, Kentucky, and 184 miles from Chicago, Illinois.

Although primarily a residential commuter community for Indianapolis, Zionsville still attract many visitors who are drawn to the village’s charismatic downtown. One of the few remaining places in the country to preserve its original brick-lined downtown, a stroll through its fabled Brick Street is like stepping back into the past. Lining this street is a host of unique stores from antique to boutique to book stores.
