Situated in northeastern Kansas within the boundaries of Geary County, Fort Riley is well known around the world as America’s “War Fighting Center”, equipped with superb military training facilities for the nation’s budding army personal. Within this large base, Fort Riley North is sectioned off as the northern portion of this massive facility. Fort Riley North has an estimated population of 8,500 people. Fort Riley is adjacent to Junction City, and the city of Topeka is about 50 miles to the east.

Steeped with a rich history, Fort Riley was originally formed to protect pioneers traveling on the famed Oregon and Santa Fe trails to establish settlement in the west. During this time it became the major horse cavalry training school in the young nation, producing the legendary Seventh Calvary. Today, you can immerse yourself in Fort Riley’s tremendous history at the U.S. Cavalry Museum, 1st Infantry Division Museum, Custer House, and First Territorial Capitol.
