Kansas City is a rarity in that the metropolitan area spans two different States. Located in both Missouri and Kansas States, it's often abbreviated as KCMO (Kansas City Metropolitan Area). Counting both sides of the State line, the city totals about 580,000 people. The entire KCMO region has 1.5 million people.

The Kansas State side of the city is the smallest with only 145,000 people.

KC still remains a major player in the United States with the third largest rail hub in the country. They also have two major leagues sports teams in the Royals and the Chiefs.

The nation's biggest in-city park is smack in the center of the city. Swope park is over a thousand acres in area, and includes a zoo, two golf courses, an amphitheatre, day camp, and even a lake!

Another reason why KC stands out from the crowd is the city's celebrated urban forestry program. Almost every street is lined with healthy trees with generous amounts of foliage and shade.
