Located in the northeast corner of the Bluegrass State of Kentucky adjacent to the West Virginia state lines is the lovely community of Flatwoods. Situated along the western banks of the grand Ohio River in fabulous Greenup County, this community is home to roughly 8,000 people who are proud to say that Flatwoods is their hometown.

There are two institutions of higher education within 25 miles of the city, Marshall University and Shawnee State University.

Cincinnati and Columbus in Ohio are about 100 miles away; Charleston, West Virginia is about 45 miles away; and Frankfurt/Lexington is about 100 miles away.

Perhaps Flatwoods most famous son, Billy Ray Cyrus, will give you an indication of Flatwood’s allure.
