The lovely seaside community of Franklin is situated on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico at the heart of the Cajun Coast amidst diverse natural sceneries including bayous, lakes, and marshes. Located in southern Louisiana in St. Mary Parish, the city of Franklin is home to approximately 12,000 people, and serves as county seat for St. Mary Parish. Franklin is about 90 miles west of the pulsating metropolis of New Orleans, 50 miles south from Baton Rouge, and 42 miles southeast of Lafayette.

With a rich agricultural history, Franklin is in the most thriving sugar cane farming region in the state, and is in close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico’s many oil fields. In addition, the city has invested in economic revitalization projects, which is seeing Improvements and additions made to public and commercial infrastructure. These projects are expected to contribute greatly to the area’s strong economy and position the Franklin as a progressive city at the forefront in the Acadiana area.
