The quaint town of Aspen Hill is a residential base for the bustling national capital of Washing DC. Less then 10 miles away, DC is the 'downtown' of Aspen Hill with easy access via bus or MetroRail transit.

Like many cities in the Northeast, it has a long history stretching back to 1718 when 1289 acres of land were granted for agriculture. Since then, it's experienced everything from the Revolutionary War, The Civil War, the Great Depression, and lived to tell the tale!

Most of the city of 50,000 people is residential. Thus Aspen Hill is more of a suburb than a city. Commercial activity isn't so high here, considering its proximity to the downtown core of Washington DC, this comes as no surprise. Luckily, the last stop of MetroRail's transit rail line is just 2 miles outside of Aspen Hill. For those who don't want to delve into Washington DC's famed traffic congestion, this is a wonderful alternative.

There are many parks, schools, and swimming pools that are open to the public. As for everything else, there are limited business and retail opportunities. Three small shopping centers and one plaza comprise the majority of the city's shopping choices. A number of small local businesses round out the commercial line-up.
