Situated in northeasten Massachusetts in Essex County near the banks of the Powwow River is the historic City of Amesbury. Originally settled by Europeans in 1642, Amesbury became incorporated in 1668. The city has a population that currently numbers approximately 18,000 people.

Amesbury began as a modest farming community before its ascent into American industrial history. Amesbury was the site of the first American factory to produce machine-made nails. Ship building, followed in the 19th century by textile mills, dominated the settlement’s early industry. The city's Merrimack Hat Factory at its peak produced more head gear than any of its competitors. Today, Amesbury continues to have an active and rigorous economy fueled by diverse businesses and industries that provides many employment opportunities for the city.

Amesbury has many excellent amenities at it's resident's disposal. The city has a senior center, health center and an exceptional school district.
