Medford Mass. is one of the oldest settlements in all of the United States. First founded by the English in 1630, the city of Medford soon became known for its clipper shipyard that provided many ships for the formidable British fleet.

Later, the city of Medford became home to an excellent distillery that produced some of the finest Rum in all of New England, known as Medford Rum, a bottle would surely raise eyebrows at any table and draw compliments from anyone lucky enough to drink it.

Medford today draws on its unique position in the heart of the state to attract people from all over. Anyone heading to Boston from the north is sure to pass through Medford and catch a glimpse of this great small city. In fact many folks are so impressed they opt to stay for a little while, and some people even move here permanently.

Medford also has some other interesting claims to fame. Paul Revered rode his horse through Medford declaring that the English were coming and few people know this but the gorgeous snowy days in this little city actually inspired the Christmas song ‘Jingle Bells.’
