New Bedford is a gorgeous seaside city located in Bristol County, Massachusetts. One of the country's oldest communities, New Bedford was first settled in 1640 and was officially incorporated in 1787.

The city of New Bedford was one of the richest cities in the country due to the success of its whaling industry. It is considered by many to be the greatest of the 19th-century whaling ports. Herman Melville, famous for his novel Moby Dick, worked in New Bedford as a whaler and made it the initial setting of his most famous novel.
