Detroit Real Estate Information You could think of a lot of things when it comes to Detroit. Detroit Rock City, Motown, or Motor City, you name it.
As it stands, Detroit is a fantastic city with lots to offer. Nightlife in the city is exciting and plentiful. The colorful neighborhood of Greektown is one of the city's great hotspots. Aside from this, Detroit also hosts some serious sports fans. Some refer to Detroit as Hockeytown, named after the rabid fans of the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. Of course, there's also the Pistons, the Tigers, and the Lions to round things out.
Though much of the city has been in decline for several decades, a new wave of urban renewal has invigorated the population. There's still a lot to do in terms of cleaning up pollution and crime, but Detroit still remains one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the nation.
If you're thinking of moving in Detroit, then a new development is probably best for you. There are many blighted areas with abandoned buildings that should simply be avoided. Some development of condominiums and housing is still ongoing so there is no real shortage of space in the city. Some of the highest crime rates in the country still scares away potential residents, but the economy here is still strong with three major automobile manufacturers in town.
