The City of Eastpointe is located in Macomb County, Michigan. Originally incorporated as the village of Halfway in 1924, it was rechartered as a city in 1929 under the name East Detroit. The city changed its name to Eastpointe after a vote in 1992.

Most of Eastpointe's residents work in Detroit, which is conveniently located nearby, as well as to large industrial and manufacturing areas in the cities of Warren and Sterling Heights. The major employer within the Eastpointe is the East Detroit Public Schools Board, where over a 1000 people are employed.

Within Macomb County recreational opportunities abound in the fresh water boating capital of the world, with more registered pleasure boats than any other county in the United States existing within close proximity at St. Clair Shores, Metropolitan Beach, and the Clinton River on Lake St. Clair. The county is also home to 28 public and private golf courses. The City of Eastpointe has 8 parks totaling 150 acres.

Eastpointe is primarily an affluent residential community that has been continually growing and expanding. Many people are attracted to the city's attractive and safe neighborhoods and the quality municipal services readily available.
