There are rich suburbs of poverty stricken cities all over this country, but few are as mismatched and awkwardly juxtaposed as Grosse Pointe Michigan and Detroit. Detroit was once the pride and joy of the state of Michigan, as the manufacturing sector was in full swing after the Second World War and cars were pouring out of the city like ants.

It seemed that times were flush and the middle class enjoyed their middle class life, while managers and owners built massive estate in what is known as Grosse Point Michigan. This was a great situation until the owners and managers decided their could live in even bigger houses if they cut some jobs. The next thing you know, the people of Detroit had no jobs, and the people in Grosse Point had better houses.
