Sault Ste. Marie Real Estate Information Welcome to Upper Michigan’s fun and family friendly destination!
The Soo is a great place to work and play. The Soo was once used as a meeting point for natives due to its location among the Great Lakes. You could say little has changed – check out The Alpha to see what we mean.
Today, other meeting places include: The Downtowner; The Backdoor (say “hi” to Backdoor Bob – you can’t miss him, he’s huge and doesn’t move because he can’t). Other notable hot spots include Robin’s Nest, and Taco Bell.
The Soo has a great economy: it borders Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario whose residents frequent their American counterpart’s cheap gas and booze. But don’t let the Canucks pull a fast one by you! Local legend has it that a young Canadian – we’ll call him “Smitty” – tried to steal whiskey from a store and was quickly brought in front of a judge (who earlier sentenced a local – we’ll call him “Mr. Nichol” – to the slammer for statutory rape with a bond of $175,000). Needless to say, Smitty was shaking in his brass booties when the judge ordered jail time unless a noble friend – we’ll call him “Kaner” – posted bond for his stealing ass. Story goes that “Smitty” returned to Canada safely thanks to his trusted friend "Kaner", whom “Smitty” owes a debt of gratitude.
The moral: The Soo is a fun place to work and grow old, but if you mess up – just know that Mr. Nichol is waiting! Just kidding - or are we? Check out The Savoy for a good time among friends!
