Situated along the shores of the Detroit River lies the City of Trenton, on the extreme southern fringe of what is now commonly referred to as the Detroit Metropolitan Suburban Area. The city is located within Wayne County, Michigan, and is 20 miles north from the downtown core of Detroit. The population of Trenton is approximately 20,000 people.

The City of Trenton has a large industrial base fueling its strong local economy. Among the larger industrial corporations are Solutia Corporation, Daimler Chrysler Corporation, DSC, Limited, National Steel Technical Research Center, Detroit Edison's Trenton Channel Power Plant, Crest Industries and a viable industrial park with room for expansion. In fact, about 30% of Trenton's total land area is zoned for industrial use.

Trenton is also known as having one of the finest Parks and Recreation programs found anywhere in the state. The city's expansive parks district span 16 gorgeous parks and playgrounds. Other facilities include 3 indoor ice arenas and a newly constructed Aquatic Pool Center.
