Located in Dakota County, Minnesota, the city of Eagan is part of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area. The city has estimated population of 67,000 people.

Born as an agricultural community, Eagan was once known as the Onion Capital of the World. During the 1950s however, with the initiation of the interstate highway system and the growth of the entire metropolitan area, Eagan slowly began to change from farmland into a developing surburban community.
