Hazelwood, Missouri

The city is located in the Northwest portion of St. Louis County, approximately 15 miles from downtown St. Louis at the intersections of I-170 and 270. I-70 is less than three miles away. Interstates 64, 44 and 55 are all within easy driving.The City is approximately ten minutes from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Non-stop service is available to most U.S. cities for both cargo and passengers. Norfolk and Southern Railroad serves the city and many industrial site are served by the main line or spur. In addition, the city is served by all major St. Louis truck lines.

Hazelwood has grown substantially since an election for Home Rule by Charter that was held and passed overwhelmingly in October 1969.

Hazelwood is one of the largest cities in St. Louis County and home to nearly 27,000 residents and more than 800 businesses, including 12 Fortune 500 companies, six Fortune 1,000 companies and 10 corporate headquarters.

The City of Hazelwood is a Home rule Charter City, governed by a Council/Manager form of government, with an elected mayor and eight council members representing eight wards. The City Manager is the administrative officer.
